Why do you work for Better Century, and what do you do?
I work with Better Century because I believe that removing operational friction is essential to enable meaningful engagement and human participation in climate and nature solutions. After aligning my career with my values, I’m committed to designing efficient systems and processes that free up mission-driven teams to focus on what matters most; facilitating the conversations and participation that unlock real change.
I help deliver engagement activities for clients:
- Deliver ‘Events Management’ for our Civil Society Clients and Transition Plan Clients, whereby you project manage engagements, and by being present at events to ensure successful delivery.
- Enable the use of digital tools, such as recording equipment, CRMs and other digital assets, as well as ensuring accurate use and production of outcomes for clients.
- Arrange support for client(s) through associates and Better Century CEO, to allow for continued positive client relationships.
What experience do you have to deliver this work?
I’ve spent my career in operations across various sectors, designing systems and tools that help small teams operate efficiently so they can amplify their impact. Following a career pivot into impact work, I’ve focused on supporting nonprofits and social enterprises as a freelance operations consultant, with particular interest in waste reduction and circular economy approaches. My work combines practical systems design with a deep commitment to removing operational barriers, enabling organisations to create space for their people to participate meaningfully in the climate and nature transition.
What do you believe is needed to overcome the nature and climate challenge?
Systems change happens when we fundamentally rethink how organisations and communities operate, not just what they do. This means building efficient, regenerative processes into how decisions are made and work happens; it’s about enabling the people within organisations and communities to be part of the solution, which requires removing operational friction and creating space for meaningful action. Real progress comes through helping purpose-led organisations optimise their operations so they can dedicate their energy and resources to the conversations and engagement that drive systemic change, rather than drowning in inefficiency.
